AMERICAN hISTORY
Hello and welcome to Mrs. Moore-Sloan American History class! I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you and your scholar this year. I have planned many
challenging and exciting activities to help stimulate your scholar’s interest in learning. This year we will focus on the history of the United States of America. The American History course will begin with the a brief recap of the French and Indian War (1754-1763) and "end through the latest Presidential Election (i.e. 2020, 2024, etc.)...This course will explore the overarching themes, trends, and concepts of our nation’s history, including the development and evolution of the American system of government, the patterns and impact of migration and immigration, cultural development through the arts and technological innovations, relationships with foreign nations, and the role of both the individual and diverse groups in building the American story." - Unit 2- Forging A Nation: 1800-1865
- Unit 3- A Gilded Republic: 1865-1898
- Unit 4- America Joins the War: 1898-1929
- Unit 5- A New Deal and A New Super Power: 1929-1945
- Unit 6- Cold War and Conflict: 1945-1968
- Unit 7- Globalization and Terror: 1968-2021
